These conditions can include severe weather (snow, fog, or ice), road closures, accidents, or any unforeseen hazards that were not anticipated at the start of the trip. Under this rule, drivers can extend their driving time by up to two hours beyond the normal hours-of-service (HOS) limits, helping them complete the trip safely without violating federal regulations.
